Serving those who served

Each year, roughly 200,000 U.S. service members transition from active duty to civilian life, stepping into a routine they have never lived before. That is not an abstraction. That is a logistics chief, a medic, a communications officer, someone who spent years operating inside clear rank, clear mission, and clear metrics, now facing a job market that runs on none of those by default.

The hard part is usually not ability. It is translation. Someone who managed multimillion-dollar equipment inventories or led a platoon through hostile conditions does not automatically know how to turn that into a sentence a civilian hiring manager understands. Roughly one in three veterans ends up in a job that does not match their actual education or experience, a rate meaningfully higher than their civilian peers. Not because the skill is missing. Because nobody built the bridge.

That bridge is what veteran-serving nonprofits build for a living. Organizations like Hire Heroes USA, American Corporate Partners (ACP), The Honor Foundation, and NPower do the work federal transition programs cannot fully cover on their own: one-on-one mentorship, skills translation, technical training, and a professional network to replace the one every veteran loses the day they leave the uniform. We would add VetsinTech to that list as well. Their AI-specific programming is squarely the kind of translation work the next wave of transitioning veterans is going to need.

AIFIN Advisors is veteran-owned, and this is not a marketing line. It is personal. Our entire business is teaching organizations how to actually use AI, not just license it. We believe the nonprofits doing this work for veterans deserve that same capability, not as a favor but as a priority. Helping veterans matters. So does making sure the organizations built to serve them have the tools to do it well. That is where we are putting our energy.
